Ebay Description:

This car is part of my Father In-Law's estate. It had been garage kept and stored for more than a year. He was driving it last summer. I charged the battery & got it running. I drove it around for the day (great fun!). I have some paperwork on this car. It is registered as a 1985 (I assume that that is the year the kit was built?). The car originally came from Saskatchewan because in the paperwork the Insurance and Appraisal forms are from companies in Saskatoon. My Father In-Law bought it in 2005. It has been registered in BC since 1999. I have the BC Government Inspection forms from 1999 when the car was brought (or sold to) someone in BC. This car was appraised to be worth $17,000.00 back in 1995, and, on the appraisal form it states that this car was 1 of only 15 cars built for Canadian Tire (this is why it is Red and White...?). The owners name on the appraisal form is "Santa Barbara Investments Ltd." - I assume that they are the supplier &/or builder of this car?? The kit is built on a VW Super Beetle Chassis with a 1600CC Engine using a 4spd. manual transmission. The car is a convertible and only seats 2. The mirror on the right front fender is missing. For accessories think on what was available in a late 70's early 80's Beetle (no A/C, no power options, gas powered heater, small wipers, etc.). The MG body kit is all fiberglass, so, no rust anywhere!! The interior is white leather and the dash is wood with vintage gages. Take a look at the pictures (I'm sorry but I did not wash or clean it before taking the pictures - I just pulled it out of the garage & shot the pics). I have paperwork from "Prototype Research & Development Ltd." in Campbellford Ontario, and, in the paperwork, there is a parts listing (and price list) for all the individual parts of this kit.

This Kit-Car is built on a Super Beetle Chassis. I don't know the exact year of the VW Beetle Chassis that was used but it is a Carburetor - not new enough to be fuel injected so late 70's maybe early 80's I am guessing?? The car was driven on sunny days only and is a blast to drive. The car was appraised back in 1995 @ $17,000.00. The appraisal firm stated that they evaluated this Kit Car that high because it was "specially built for The Canadian Tire Corp one of only 15 built"."
