UP FOR AUCTION HERE IS A PROJECT FIBERFAB AZTEC 7 KIT CAR BODY BASED ON A 1968 VW CHASSIS AND WAS BEING BUILT AS AN EV. BODY WAS ORIGINALLY BOUGHT FROM FIBERFAB IN 1978 AND HAS NEVER BEEN COMPLETED. COMES WITH A STATE OF NEVADA VEHICLE DISMANTLING CERTIICATE FOR THE CHASSIS AND THE ORIGINAL MANUFACTURER'S STATEMENT OF ORIGIN FOR THE BODY. THE BODY KIT IS COMPLETE EXCEPT FOR DOOR LATCHES AND WINDOW HINGES. INCLUDES WINDSHIELD AND SIDE WINDOWS, BUT NO REAR WINDOW, WHICH WOULD JUST REQUIRE A FLAT PIECE OF GLASS.

THE WINNING BIDDER HAS THE OPTION TO BUY THE ELECTRIC MOTOR FOR $500 AND/OR THE DC TO DC CONVERTER FOR $250. OVER THE FINAL SELLING PRICE. THE ELECTRIC MOTOR IS A PRESTOLITE MTC 4001 RATED FOR 96 VOLTS. THE FLYWHEEL HAS BEEN MACHINED DOWN TO A 4 LB DISC SAME DIAMETER AS THE FRICTION DISC, AND THE FRICTION DISC BOLTED AND SAFETY WIRED DIRECT TO THE REMAINING FLYWHEEL, SO IT'S NOT AS PICTURED IN THE MOTOR PHOTOS. THE MOTOR HAS BEEN MOUNTED AND TEST POWER OF 40 VOLTS APPLIED WITH VEHICLE ON STANDS. WHEELS SPUN UP RAPIDLY. ALL FOUR GEARS AND REVERSE CHECKED GOOD. ORIGINAL THROW OUT BEARING AND FORK IS INCLUDED, AND A FLYWHEEL AND CLUTCH ( NOT INCLUDED ) CAN BE REINSTALED. THE PLAN WAS TO LOCK THE TRANS IN ONE FORWARD GEAR AND REVERSE ELECTRICALLY. THE DC TO DC CONVERTER: ( 80 - 140 VOLT DC INPUT AND 13.6 VOLTS OUTPUT 18 AMPS PEAK 10 AMPS CONTINUOUS FOR LIGHTING (LED PREFERABLY), WIPERS, FAN ETC. ADDITIONAL OR HIGHER OUTPUT DC TO DC CONVERTER MAYBE REQUIRED.

NONE OF THE OTHER REQUIRED EV COMPONENTS ARE INCLUDED, SUCH AS CONTROLLER, CONTACTOR, RELAYS, CHARGER, BATTERIES, CABLES, EV GAUGES ETC.

PAIR OF NEW JAZ SEATS WITH NEW COVERS (ORIGINAL HIGH BACK KIT SEATS ALSO INCLUDED)

A FOUR POINT ROLL BAR HAS BEEN FABED FROM 1.75 DIA. 4130 DOM. PINNED AND TACK WELDED ONLY. EXTRA 4130 TUBING FOR FABBING STEERING COLUMN SUPPORT AND ADDITIONAL BRACING TO THE FRONT AND REAR SUSPENSION INCLUDED.

- THIS IS A PROJECT - (SHOULD BE OBVIOUS FORM PHOTOS) MUCH WORK HAS BEEN DONE, AND MORE REMAINS. THE CHASSIS WORK IS COMPLETE EXCEPT FOR SUSPENSION ADJUSTMENT AND FINAL TORQUE. FABRICATIONS SKILLS WILL BE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE. SOME OF THE TOUGHEST FAB ( BENDING 1.75" X .090" 4130 ) IS DONE. THE REMAINING FRAME WORK, FRONT BODY SUPPORT, STEERING COLUMN SUPPORT SHOULD ONLY REQUIRE FABRICATION FROM STRAIGHT TUBE. THE REAR ENGINE COVER HINGES FROM THE REAR, AND SUPPORTS ARE INCLUDED FOR THAT, FABBED FORM FLAT BAR (HEAVY), WOULD BE BETTER IF FABBED FROM TUBE.

THE BODY EXTERIOR IS NOT PAINTED, STILL IN THE ORIGINAL GEL COAT. THER ARE MINOR SCRATCHES AND CHIPS. WILL REQUIRE SANDING, FILLER PRIMER AND FINISH COATS.
