EBAY Description:

Ended: Oct 02, 2014
Item location: Lenoir City, Tennessee

Up for sale we have a 1958 VW Dune Buggy. In the ‘60s they started making fiber glass body to put on VW frames and the dune buggy was born. They were for fun in the sun. Most of them had a simple roll bar and no doors you jumper over the side. The one we are offering is sitting on a ’58 VW Frame. In the paragraphs to follow we will give a brief description of the exterior, interior, and driveline of the VW, but first we would like to tell you a little about us.

Smoky Mountain Traders is a classic car dealer in east Tennessee. We are family owned, operated, and own our entire inventory, no consignments, and only deal in muscle cars and vintage auto. You can count on us to have 50 to 60 cars at all times. We don’t have a big show room that our customers would otherwise pay for. So, that’s how we can sell for less than other dealers. To contact us for more information, pictures, or any questions call our office at (865)988-8088 or visit our SmokyMountainTraders website.

We will start off with the exterior of VW. When you look at this body it’s solid with no signs of any cracking. It has a set of chrome headlights and aluminum framed windshield. It has a small push bar up front and also comes with a toe bar so you can take it to the beach. The color is a gold medal flake which in in the jel coat as most of these bodies were.

Next, we will take a look at the interior of the Dune Buggy. On the inside it’s simple. It has fiber glass seats and a simple roll bar. It has the 4 speed shifter with just a speedo and tach in the dash. This buggy has a back seat which is a nice touch.

Finally, we will take a look at the driveline of the VW. The engine is a VW engine but we are not sure of the size. It guns great and has the 4 speed trim axle and 4 wheel drum brakes. It’s setting on a set of Crager mags with White Letter Tires. The pans in this buggy are in good shape.
