EBAY Description:

Ended: Jul 19, 2014
Item location: Canoga Park, California

This is amazing 1964 VW Dune Buggy Manx 1600cc 4 speed manual Transmission with reverse for sale. Have to sell to make room for other toys. Runs very strong, eye turner that can easily be made street legal just never took to the DMV for inspection. Only missing the horn. It has dual exhaust, working high low beams, led tail lights (I have to originals), working oil gage and only has 37,000 original miles. Its a 4 seater, with seta belts in front only. Its a great car the you want to work on cosmetically to make it the best buggy on the road. Best thing is that it have clean title with an original 6 digit vin. Its has the CA off road registration through 2015. I am only the second owner. Could use a carpet kit, and paint and it will be good to go. I also have the tool box that goes where the back set is, but we prefer the seat. I marked as street legal because the hardest part about being street legal is a clean title and VIN. With the addition of a horn, in CA you would be able to go to the DMV and have inspected. At that point, the DMV will issue plates. I can walk someone through the process as I have done it on numerous similar vehicles.

I have been asked if it is a true Meyer's Manx, and although I do not have the documentation to prove that it is a true Manx, I do believe it to be a Manx II because it has the stiffening tubes under the fenders that run from the bulk head to the engine bulkhead. In addition the hood and dashboard are molded as one piece with no metal frame inside, All Manx II'a are identified by a larger bump on the hood which it has and the omission of the battery box sump and the spare tire well in the rear set area. They were flat across the back seat area which mine is.

Funnybug says: That's no Manx
