EBAY Description:

"MEYERS MANX FUN SPORT VEHICLES" was our marketing slogan back in the 60's. My cousin and I had the dealership for the state of Arizona. We operated under the name of MANX DISTRIBUTORS of PHOENIX with B F Meyers as our supplier.

I purchased this unit ten years ago on Ebay as it was an original Manx, had been stored in doors with a rust free pan and recent engine rebuild history. For nostalgic reasons, it was my desire to do a body off rebuild and duplicate my original Manx demonstrator.

This is a Manx 2. Advantages of the Manx 2 design are: Cleaner rear seat area without spare tire well which was never used anyway and battery box located outside the cab rather than in. Hood and dash molded as intregal unit with more rigid mounting of steering column. Finish is metal flake green with clearcoat. Original gelcoat was orange. Dual air filtration for off-road or highway use.

Chassis is 1964 / Engine is 1969 1500cc dual port with pict 34 carburator. Stainless steel sidewinder exhaust with that awesome manx sound, roll bar and valve covers are B F Meyers supplied. Chrome dress-up items are after market as is the recent disc brake conversion and new clutch. Two clear titles in hand: Illinois title 64 VW / Wyoming title 1964 Custom MPV. Currently registered under the latter as a street legal Multi Purpose Vehicle. Is this a concourse show car? Not realy. It is however a frequently used street machine and off road dune buggy. Grandkids have contributed a few scratches and chips during fun times, but looks damn good. Two time trophy winner in local car shows. One of the best original "Fun Sport Vehicles" you will find.

Remember only an original Manx will retain its inherent collector car value. I never thought I would see the day that I would be selling this bit of my history, but health issues make it necessary. This is a no-nonsense auction with a low reserve. Tow bar for 2" ball included. Pick up is Southern Utah. $500 non refundable deposit due 24 hours after auction close. Balance due 7 days after auction close.

On Nov-16-13 at 10:38:02 PST, seller added the following information:

I have received comments from a low knowledge individual who claims this vehicle is not a genuine MEYERS MANX. This may be in part to due to the addition of after market accessories or this may be an effort to keep the bid price low for his own purpose.

However my 50 years experience of working with the brand, plus the fact that the BF MEYERS serial number is listed on the BF MEYERS registry tells the true story. I stand my by my claim that this is a genuine MEYERS MANX and not a cheap replica.

This vehicle is truly FOR SALE. I have thus LOWERED THE RESERVE. Just a few more bids and the car is YOURS.......Happy Bidding
