Funnybug sez:

strange claims from a second buyer (was sold before restored)...

EBAY Description:

For your consideration is this beautiful fiberglass Volkswagen powered Dune Buggy.

The buggy has a clear Ohio title and is registered as a 1987 Volkswagen Roadster.

We are Smith Bros. Hot Rods & Classics located in Marion, Ohio. We're just a small group of guys who build and restore hot rods & classic cars.

We started restoring dune buggies a couple years ago and have sold most of them on Ebay, so please check out our feedback. We are very proud of our 100% positive rating.

This is our 23rd Buggy that we've restored.

The body & chassis are manufactured by Berrien Buggy's. The body as well as the tublar chassis is the Nostalgia model .

You can check out Berrien Buggies website to get a good look at the body and chassis.

The tublar chassis is way cooler than the old VW pans that you find on most dune buggies.

Powered by a 1835c.c. dual port VW engine with many performance upgrades and a lot of chrome goodies. Lots of power and looks and runs awesome.

The transmission is a 4 spd. manual that shifts just fine and has a new clutch & shifter.

The buggy has independent rear suspension and front king pin with coil over shocks all around.

The body is lazer straight. The paint is PPG. It's a beautiful dark purple with House of Color's rainbow metal flake base coat clear coat system. Then we add our signature stripes rubbed to a very high luster. The pictures do not do the paint justice.

The body also has the optional side pods that, I think, add that finishing touch!

The wheels and tires are new. The wheels are 15" x 10" rear & 15" x 7" front and gives the buggy a nice stance.

The Interior has many new componets such as carpet, seats, lap belts, stereo, park brake handle and steering wheel.

What else is new on this buggy? Here is a list: windshield, headlights, parklights, led taillights, front and rear bumpers, engine skid plate,

clutch cable, accelerator cable, fuel sending unit, complete wiring harness, battery and much more.

This buggy was in good condition when we purchased it, but we still took it down to the bare chassis and built it back to what you see in the pictures. We replaced what needed to be replaced. We rebuilt what needed to be rebuilt. We repaired what needed to be repaired, inspected the rest, reassembled the buggy, and put at least a 100 test miles on it before putting up for auction.

The buggy is street legal in Ohio. It has a working horn, headlights, taillights, turn signals, windshield wipers, parking brake and lap belts.

Please bid with confidence. This is a very nice buggy that will bring a lot of "ooh's" and "ahh's" your way.

For the price of a nice motorcycle or golf cart you could own a neat piece of automotive history.

This car will come to you car show ready!
