Funnybug sez:

unmistakeably a "Sand Shark"...

Description:

Up for sale is my 1959 Volkswagen Dune Buggy. It was professionaly restored about 8 yrs ago.It has a rebuilt Type 3 1600cc pancake motor with 88mm jugs, single port heads that have been flycut for increased compression,009 Bosch dist. with Pertronix Igniter,Bosch blue coil, dual Weber 1 barrel carbs, finned valve covers, deep sump oil pan and dual exhaust for that classic dune buggy sound. It has a non syncro 1st gear split case swing axle tranny. The body design is a Sand Shark, and it was redone in PPG tricolor pearl white base coat clear coat. It has nerf bars, tube bumpers and a full roll cage.It sits on a hand built frame consisting of an 8 inch backbone( like the original vw design) with angle iron frame work, its very ridgid and strong. It has a lowered kingpin front axle with rear adjustable spring plates. It has a new wiring harness with LED lights,Hi/Low beams, signals,E -brake,steering brake, billet side and rear view mirrors and 2 speed wipers, allthough there are no wiper arms. It rolls on wide 5 pearl white spokes with stainless steel trim rings and 275/60-15`s up front and 31/13.0-15`s in the rear. Absolutely beautiful, I drive it everywhere in the summer, always a head turner at car shows. Too many toys it has to go!

I have had a few people ask about the rear suspension, it is the original frame horns from the 59 but it uses irs torsion bars for a better ride and it has adjustable side plates for ride height.
