1964 pan but registered as a 1971 type 1. This car was completely disassembled and the following was done: Floor pans were replaced, full rollcage was fabricated and tied into chrome molly reinforced pan, 3" body lift kit was welded to pan and then the whole chassis/rollcage was black powder coated. brake system was converted to 4 wheel disc brakes with a dual circuit master cylinder, braided brake lines and parking stop. The interior has been completed restored. All new or restored gauges. New shifter, clutch cable, steering wheel, horn, exterior lights, battery, gear reduction starter, windshield/frame, mirrors, fuel tank filler and tube, and wiring harness. The body was completely stripped and repaired. It has 8 coats of laguna blue paint.The engine that is in it right now is a 2368cc motor w/44 webers, dyno tuned at 135hp which alone cost $5000.00. Built by professional mechanic. Less than 1500 miles since completed. Over $20,000.00 in parts alone. Handling is awesome with reinforced chassis. Can be driven safely at 80 mph on freeway. The car won 2nd place in its class at the 2010 VW Classic in Irvine. PLEASE NOTE THE CAR COMES WITH A 1600 CC MOTOR WITH DUAL KADRON CARBURETORS, NOT WITH THE ENGINE THAT IS SHOWN
