Funnybug sez:

unbelievable work of art.

Ebay Description:

1965 Deserter GT Dune Buggy
Built with a 1965 Chevrolet Corvair drivetrain, running gear and suspension, including
110hp 6 cylinder engine
Corvair 4-speed manual gearbox
Corvair Front and Rear Suspension
Corvair Steering and Brakes

There are no VW parts on this buggy.

The frame is made of tubular steel. Many companies were building Dune Buggy frames in the early 70's and this one may of been offered in the J.C. Whitney or Sears catalog.

Recently purchased from a private collection, it is believed to have been driven less than 2,000 miles since being built.

This is a turn-key, ready to go buggy you can start enjoying immediately. It is guaranteed to win car show trophies and attract attention wherever you go. Even in car jaded South Florida, this buggy turns heads.

One of the most unique buggies you will ever find !

Available for inspection in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

This actual car was featured on the cover of Corsa Communique - April 2005

This auction has a very low reserve and I am sure it will sell to the highest bidder.
Serious Bidders Only - if you are new to ebay or have less than 3 feedback,
contact me before bidding or I might cancel your bid.

The body and gel coat are in very nice condition and look stunning from a few feet away. There are some small chips, cracks & blemishes you would expect to find on a buggy of this vintage.

Corvair tail lights and a lighted license plate frame

Brand new fuel tank (quality Canadian made) with a brand new stainless steel sending unit.

Corvair steering and front suspension with Koni shocks. This makes for a firm ride,
I would call this more of a Street Buggy than a Dune Buggy.

The engine is mostly stock with the addition of a larger after market finned oil pan,
Ignitor Electronic Ignition, Accel Super Coil and a custom Buggy header exhaust.

The engine case number is TO916RD and the heads are 3856759
this indicates a 110 hp, no smog engine from 65 to 67.

The engine has lots of power and runs absolutely perfect.
According to the previous owner ( magazine article ) the engine was rebuilt
when he purchased the car - so it should have less than 2,000 miles

Stock Corvair shifter and linkage - the clutch feels new

Corvair peddle assembly and the Fuel Gauge

More of the tubular steel frame - storage area behind seats

Yes, this Buggy is Street Legal - notice a current PA registration decal on the windshield

A chrome cap covering the antenna mounting hole
There is no radio

Two cracks in the gel coat on top of the drivers front fender

15 inch Cragar rims with almost new 205/70 front and 255/70 rear tires

Vehicle identification number plate located in the engine compartment.
This Buggy was originally built and titled in Pennsylvania, it is now in Florida and was recently issued an Assembled From Parts ( ASPT ) Kit Car Florida Title.
