Funnybug sez:

an ultra rare Dean Jeffries Kyote for under $3k.. amazing....

Ebay Description:

This is a nice example of the Dean Jeffries designed Kyote I. The Kyote I was the evolution of the original Mantaray II Kyote of 1968-69 that was originally designed for the Movie "Head" starring the Monkees. The Kyote I was manufactured by Jeffries in 1969-70 and improvements from the original design included moving the headlights from the top of the front fenders to the deck area for tire clearance and adding the curved side panels that cover area from mid-body to floor pan. These panels allowed for extra fuel tanks, or as in the case with this example, side storage area. The Dune Buggy Handbook specifies that there were 250 of the Kyote I made by Jeffries. This car had been in storage for over 10 years when I purchased it from an estate sale. It has a clear Arizona title and is titled as a 1970 Dune Buggy. The fiberglass is in good shape and the body is complete with engine cover, front valance, the side panels and the windshield mounting covers. The paint is good for a driver but far from perfect. The windshield is good- no cracks and it has new seats, seat covers and steering wheel. The mag wheels look like period pieces and the tires have maybe 50% tread left. The tires are all the same size and it could certainly use something larger on the rear wheels. One of the original VW tail light lens is cracked and needs to be replaced. The engine is a single port with IRS rear. It runs and drives well but needs a good tune up. The pan is solid in the front but has had patches in the rear. Transmission and clutch work fine and brakes seem good. It has a spun aluminum gas tank mounted at the rear. It does have an area for a stock VW tank up front but there is not one in it now. The battery is new and most of the wiring has been completed. It still needs to have a speedometer cable installed and the radio hooked up but both should be operational. The radio has a antenna but needs speakers. There are cut outs for 6x9 speakers in the side pods. A nice running, driving example of a classic buggy that needs little to be a lot of fun this summer. Features: Single port motor (not sure of displacement, probably 1500 or 1600) IRS rear Spun aluminum gas tank Stinger exhaust Should be street legal in most areas, with : Working headlights and tail lights, with high/low beam Brake lights Turn signals (rear only) Dual side view mirrors Horn Working windshield wipers (needs new blades) Has Speedometer but needs new cable Oil pressure warning light Oil pressure and ammeter gauges but not connected AM/FM tape player- mounted but not installed Please feel free to contact me with any questions. The buggy is available for inspection in Scottsdale, Arizona. Send an email to arrange and appointment. Vehicle is for sale locally and auction may be ended at any time. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!
