Funnybug sez:
I had a squareback engine in one of my dune buggies once. cool looking yes, but it really made the rear ass heavy and affected the handling pretty adversely as I recall. Working sidepipes.. pretty neat..

Ebay Description:

Up for auction is a 1963 VW Dune Buggy. I have the Pa title in hand, Its a reconstructed title because its a kit car. It has 70,400 original miles. It has solid steel floor pan with no rust and this fiberglass is in great condition. The paint is less than one year old and its Plum crazy purple metal flake. Perfect color for a dune buggy. There is only one small scratch in the paint, but its hard to see. Its powered by a pancake motor with dual solex carbs and It has a 4 speed bug transmission. The buggy has working side pipes, 14 inch crager mags and looks great. It has a current Pa inspection but will need minor repairs before next inspection. You will need a king pin set and the steering box has some play. Every once in a while the carb leaks a little. Included in the auction is a fiberglass roof with mounting hardware (see pics) Its not painted to match the car. For a extra fee to the winning bidder it can be painted to match the car if wanted. Also included is the K-C light bar and misc parts. It doesnt have a radio but the cut out is in the dash. I have a very reasonable reserve set for this dune buggy.
